Due to having last minute packing and little time to get done, I will not be able to post my blog. For new readers etc.., I will be moving from Colorado to Oklahoma and may not have access to a computer for awhile, but if I am able to have access to a computer, I will be posting a blog. Please have patience, I will be back online as soon as I can.

Is Superstition Compatible With Bible Teaching? -Breaking Free From Superstition
Breaking Free From Superstition
There are countless superstitious practices, and all of them have something in common-the lack of a logical explanation. Superstitions can, among other things, lead people into blaming their misfortunes on bad luck rather than accepting the responsibility for their deeds.
Happily, many have broken free from superstition. Jesus said: "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32) Clementina, a Brazilian fortune teller for 25 years, said: "Fortune telling was my only means of making a living. But Bible truth freed me from superstition." In reality, regular Bible study and heartfelt prayer to Jehovah God can help us develop inner strength. This can stabilize and balance our thinking, which can lead to sound decisions that prevent calamity and alleviate anxiety.-Philippians 4:6, 7, 13.
The Bible asks: "What sharing does light have with darkness? Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Belial [Satan]?" Hence, true Christians must keep away from superstition. -2 Corinthians 6:14-16.

Is Superstition Compatible With Bible Teaching? - The Source Of Superstition
The Source Of Superstition
Mankind in general has been plagued by fears-fears of death , of the unknown, and of what is called the Hereafter, to mention just a few. Satan, the rebel opposer of God, is determined to enslave people, and he has been feeding such fears with malicious lies. (John 8:44; Revelation 12:9) Satan is not alone in his efforts to lure people away from God. In the Bible, Satan is called "the ruler of the demons." (Matthew 12:24-27) Who are the demons? In Noah's time a number of angels joined Satan in his rebellion against God and made themselves demons. Since then, they have been trying to influence people's minds. Superstition has been one of their devices. -Genesis 6:1, 2; Luke 8:2, 30; Jude 6.
One of Satan's lies has provided a base for superstition. It is the belief that an invisible entity survives the death of a person's body and can come back to affect the living. But the Bible says: "As for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all." It further states that "there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom" after one dies. -Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10.
"Something Detestable To Jehovah"
Many individuals have chose to believe Satan's lies. Yet, years ago, God gave his people the Israelites clear direction on the matter. "There should not be found in you anyone," his Word says, "who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or any one who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah." -Deuteronomy 18:10-12.
Sadly, the Israelites did not always heed this warning. For example, in the days of the prophet Isaiah, some believed that a good crop depended on appeasing "the god of Good Luck" -a superstitious belief that resulted in dire consequences. They lost Jehovah's favor and blessing. -Isaiah 65:11, 12.
Jehovah's attitude toward superstition did not change with the coming of Christianity. The apostle Paul urged superstitious people in the city of Lystra "to turn from these vain things ["vanities," or "superstitions," The Emphatic Diaglott] to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things in them." -Acts 14:15.

Is Superstition Compatible With Bible Teaching?
A JOURNALIST refrained from flying for a year because a fortune teller had predicted that he would die in a plane accident. People from all walks of life, including politicians, businessmen, actors, athletes, and college students, resort to superstitious practices. In times of uncertainty, stress or anxiety, they feel that such practices protect them against dangers or help them reach their goals.
Many forms of superstition are seen as quaint or as an inoffensive source of psychological support. The late anthropologist Margaret Mead observed: "Superstitions reflect the keenness of our wish to have something come true or to prevent something bad from happening. The half acceptance and half denial accorded superstitions give us the best of both worlds." Still, those determined to please God should ask themselves, 'Is superstition compatible with Christianity?'

How To Find True Religion-How The Truth Affects People
How The Truth Affects People
When one finds the truth, as did the Beroeans, he is moved to share it enthusiastically. Others may disapprove, holding that it is more humble to feel that other religions could be equally correct. However, the Bible's truth-once found-instills conviction. It does not leave one wondering if truth is attainable or if all religions might lead to salvation. Finding the truth, however, begins with an earnest examination, which does indeed require humility.
Jehovah's Witnesses have made such an examination. That is why they believe that they have found the true religion. And they invite you to make a search of the Scriptures so as to identify who is practicing true religion today. While there is much more involved that and simple checklist could provide.
By accepting a home Bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses at no cost, you can make an in-depth search of what the Bible really teaches. Learning this will put you in position to identify the true religion.
(Note: The Jehovah's Witnesses go by the Bible standards which is the true truth. If everyone just went by what Jehovah says in the Bible, everyone would be so much happier and better off in everyway. I am not a Jehovah's Witness. I only go by what the Bible says to and I am happier for it. I have tried going to meetings and having a Bible Study, I did learn a lot, but my Bible study teacher was pressuring me and they are not suppose to do that. Jehovah says in the Bible, Do not force people to do what they do not want to do. I wanted to learn, but I did not want to speak out loud, as far as answering questions etc.. I did not like it in high school doing book reports out loud and I wasn't going to be forced into it there either. Also, it got to where if she showed up, she would be late and would not call to let me know. And when she wasn't going to come, and if she did call to say she wasn't coming, she sometimes would call an hour late or not at all. You are suppose to be able to depend on these people to to what they say they are going to do or do what they are suppose to do. These people call themselves God's people. If you can find one that is dependable, that is great, because you want to learn all that you can of God's Word. But I had the wrong persons, so I quit and started studying on my own and am still learning. I have read the Bible word for word, front to back many times because I want to and because each time I do it, I learn more and more. So, I think that everyone should do this and learn as much as possible. It is really interesting. You cannot depend on all those false prophets to teach you everything in the Bible, because they will skip over it. I found this out, because in the past, I have been to many churches and seen many faiths. This is the true knowledge. I have two Bibles, the one Jehovah's Witnesses have and the regular one and they both, with the exception of a few different words that mean the same, all say the same, the truth. )

How To Find True Religion- An Approach That Works
An Approach That Works
Some first-century residents of Beroea were commended by the apostle Paul for the way they responded when he taught them. They did not immediately accept what Paul said as truth; still, they listened respectfully. We can learn from what the Beroeans did after hearing the message.
Note that the Bible explains: "Now the [Beroeans] were more noble minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so. Therefore many of them become believers." (Acts 17:10-12) So their search was not superficial. They did not expect conclusive results in just one or two brief discussions with Paul.
Observe also that the Beroeans "receive the word with the greatest eagerness of mind." This tells us something about the attitude with which they approached their study of the Scriptures. They were not gullible, but neither were they cynical. They did not have a critical attitude toward what was explained by Paul, who was one of God's human representatives.
Consider this too: The Beroeans were hearing about Christianity for the first time. It sounded good, perhaps too good to be true. But rather than dismiss it, they carefully examined the Scriptures, checking to see 'whether the things Paul was saying were so.' Note, too, that those both Beroea and Thessalonica who made such a diligent search became believers. (Acts 17:4, 12) They did not give up and conclude that truth cannot be found. They identified the true religion.

How To Find True Religion- What About Christian Truth?
What About Christian Truth?
What of the truth proclaimed by Jesus Christ? Did everyone recognize it as a message from God? No. Even though Jesus was right there in the midst of the people of Israel teaching them and performing miracles, most of his listeners did not discern that he was the foretold Messiah - the Christ, or Anointed One.
To the Pharisees who asked when God's Kingdom was coming, Jesus himself said: "The Kingdom of God is not coming with striking observableness." He added: "The Kingdom of God is in your midst." (Luke 17:20, 21) God's appointed Ruler, Jesus, was among them! But those Pharisees refused to open their eyes to the evidence that he was fulfilling the Messianic prophecies and to accept him as "the Christ, the Son of the living God." -Matthew 16:16.
The response to the truth proclaimed by Christ's first-century disciples was similar. While miracles helped to demonstrate that God was supporting the disciples, the truth was still not plain to most. (Acts 8:1-8, 9: 32-41) Jesus commissioned his followers to "make disciples of people" by teaching them. As a result of listening and learning Scriptural truths, sincere seekers of truth became believers. -Matthew 28:19; Acts 5:42; 17:2-4, 32-34.
It is the same today. The "good news of the kingdom" is being " preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations." (Matthew 24:14) This is not necessarily being done "with striking observableness" -in so obvious a way that every individual on earth will recognize it as a message from God. Yet, God's truth is recognizable and strikes a responsive chord in honesthearted individuals who want to worship God in the way approved by him. -John 10:4, 27.
The fact that you are reading a Bible journal shows that you are a likely sincere seeker of truth. How can you determine which religion is teaching it?

How To Find True Religion
'If truth from God really exists, why must I search to find it?' Some ask. 'If God has an important message for all mankind, would he not convey it clearly enough so that people would grasp it immediately, without the need for investigation?"
SURELY God has the ability to do such a thing. But is that the way he has chosen to communicate truth?
How God Conveys Truth
Actually, God conveys his messages in a way that allows sincere seekers of truth to search them out. (Psalm 14:2) Consider the message that God delivered through his prophet Jeremiah centuries ago. It was given to God's wayward people regarding the coming destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians. -Jeremiah 25:8-11; 52:12-14.
Yet, at the same time, other prophets claimed to speak for God. Hananiah foretold peace for Jerusalem. That was a very different message from the one that Jeremiah delivered. So whom was a person at that time to believe-Jeremiah or those who contradicted him? -Jeremiah 23:16, 17; 28:1, 2, 10-17.
To know who was right, sincere Jews needed to know Jehovah as a person. they needed to understand his laws and principles, as well as his attitude toward wrongdoing. Doing so, they would have agreed with God's words spoken through Jeremiah that "there was not a man repenting over his badness." (Jeremiah 8:5-7) Furthermore, they would have discerned that this sad situation did not bode will for Jerusalem and its inhabitants. -Deuteronomy 28:15-68; Jeremiah 52:4-14.
Jeremiah's prophecies came true. The city was razed by the Babylonians in 607 B.C.E. Although the consequences of disobedience were foretold long in advance, effort was needed to recognize that the time had arrived for God to take action.

Who Should Determine True Religion? -After Jesus Came To Earth
After Jesus Came To Earth
Later, after Jesus was sent to earth, the way of true worship was established on the basis of its teachings, and God's purposes were illuminated in a grand way. In time, true worshipers came to be called "Christians." (Acts 11:26) Thus, Jews who wanted God's approval had to leave their former way of worship. They did not have the option of choosing between two systems of worship or of worshiping as isolated individuals. As we have seen in God's Word, true worshipers were united in "one faith." -Ephesians 4:4, 5.
Today the idea that God deals with mankind through only one religion may seem extreme and unpalatable to some. Yet, it is the conclusion to which the Bible points. In the past, many individuals who had worshiped in their own way came to grips with this fact. They joined themselves to the true worshipers of Jehovah, and any initial misgivings gave way to great blessings and joy. For example, the Bible says that after one Ethiopian man accepted Christianity and was baptized, "he kept going on his way rejoicing." -Acts 8:39.
Anyone today who accepts and practices the true religion will realize similar blessings. But with so many religions to choose from, how can you identify the one true religion?

Who Should Determine True Religion?-What the Bible Record Shows
What The Bible Record Shows
That the above conclusion has solid Scriptural support is clear from the Bible record. By searching this record, you will find that God dealt with his people through one system of worship. Early in mankind's history, God used patriarchs, or family heads, as his representatives. Prominent among them were Noah, Abram (Abraham), Isaac and Jacob. -Genesis 8:18-20; 12:1-3; 26:1-4; 28:10-15.
The people who descended from Jacob came to be enslaved in Egypt. While there, they were cruelly oppressed yet grew to number into the millions. God delivered them from captivity, miraculously bringing them through the Red Sea. Then he adopted them as his people, providing them laws by means of the mediator Moses. They became the ancient nation of Israel, God's nation. -Exodus 14:21-28; 19:1-6; 20:1-17.
Significantly, God did not approve of the forms of worship practiced by people in the nations surrounding Israel. In fact, he punished his people when they deviated from his laws and adopted such forms of worship -Leviticus 18:21-30; Deuteronomy 18:9-12.
What about individuals from other nations who wanted to worship the true God? they needed first to abandon their former false worship and then join Israel in the worship of Jehovah God. Many of them gained God's approval and became his loyal servants. These included women, such as Rahab, the Canaanite and Ruth the Moabite; men, such as Uriah the Hittite and Ebed-melech the Ethiopian; and groups of people, such as the Gibeonites. Israel's King Solomon offered a heartfelt prayer in behalf of all who, like them, joined in true worship with God's people. -- 2 Chronicles 6:32, 33.

Who Should Determine True Religion?
JESUS made it clear that some forms of worship are not acceptable to God. He spoke of "false prophets," comparing them to a tree that produces worthless fruit and "gets cut down and thrown into the fire." He also said: "Not everyone saying to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens." -Matthew 7:15-22.
Jesus in fact, said regarding some who would claim to follow him: "I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness." (Matthew 7:23) Further, when speaking to the religious leaders of his day, Jesus applied to them God's words to apostate Israel: "It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines of men." -Mark 7:6, 7.
Clearly, not all worship is approved by God or his Son. Thus, not all worship is true worship. Does this mean that only one religion teaches the truth? Could not God be working through a number of religions, while rejecting certain others? Or, for that matter, might God be accepting and rejecting the worship of individuals scattered about in a number of religions despite what their organizations teach?
The apostle Paul wrote under Divine inspiration: "Now I exhort you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you, should all speak in agreement, and that there should not be division among you, but that you may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought." ( 1 Corinthians 1:10) The Bible also exhorts Christians to be "of the same mind and have the same love being joined together in soul, holding the one thought in mind." -Philippians 2:2.
Where such unity exists, the result is, in fact, one religion. Accordingly, the Bible says that there is "ONE LORD, one faith, one baptism." -Ephesians 4:4, 5.

Conclusion of Is there One True Religion? - Does Absolute Truth Really Exist?
Then there are the Bible's positive moral commands-such as the commands to love one's wife, to respect one's husband, and to do good to others. (Matthew 7:12; Ephesians 5:33) Observing these commands brings beneficial results. Would you argue that such moral counsel is good for some but not for others?
Whether the moral laws of the Bible are followed or not brings consequences to people. This fact argues that such laws are not just alternative points of view. Rather, they have truths. Evidence reveals that good consequences are realized when the Bible's moral laws are followed, but bad one when they are not.
So think: If the Bible's moral laws hold true for all mankind, what about the standards in God's Word regarding worship? What about its comments on what happens when we die and the hope we have for an everlasting future? It logically follows that these Bible teachings are also truths, provided for all mankind. Their benefits and consequences are not limited to only the people who believe them.
Truth can be found. Jesus said that God's Word, the Bible, is truth. (John 17:17) Yet, truth may still seem unattainable. Why? Because so many different religions claim to teach what the Bible says. Which religion is teaching the truth from God's Word? Must we limit the answer to just one religion? Could not the truth, or at least parts of it, be found in a number of religions?

Does Absolute Truth Really Exist?
No doubt you will agree that there are some things of which you can be absolutely certain. You are sure of your own existence and that the objects that surround you are real. The trees, the mountains, the clouds, the sun and moon -the material world-are not figments of your imagination. Of course, there may be a few people who argue in a philosophical way that even those things are questionable. But it is unlikely that you agree with such an extreme notion.
Then there are natural laws. Of these too, you can be absolutely certain. For example, if you jump off a cliff, you will fall; if you refuse to eat you will feel hungry; and if you go without food for a long time, you will die. You do not wonder if such natural laws hold true for some but not for others. They apply to all mankind and are therefore said to be universal.
The Bible alludes to one such universal law when it asks: "Can a man rake together fire into his bosom and yet his very garments not be burned?" Indeed, when that was written, it was universally true that clothing would burn if brought into contact with fire. However, in stating this fact, the above Bible proverb is really making a bigger point, namely, that "anyone having [sexual] relations with the wife of his fellowman" will suffer adverse consequences.-Proverbs 6:27, 29.
Is that statement an absolute truth of which we can be certain? Some say no. They claim that morals are personal, that they depend on one's upbringing beliefs, and circumstances. But consider a few of God's moral laws as found in the Bible. Are these not universal truths?
The Bible condemns adultery. (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10) Some people do not accept this Bible precept as truth, and they practice adultery. Still, even they generally reap bitter consequences, which often include a troubled conscience, divorce and deep emotional scars for all concerned (that is, if one has a conscience to begin with).
Drunkenness is also condemned by God (Proverbs 22:30; Ephesians 5:18) What happens when people practice it? in many cases they lose their jobs, their health, and their family, who also suffer emotionally. (Proverbs 23:29-35) Such consequences come even to those who do not believe that drunkenness is wrong. does the truthfulness of these moral laws appear to be relative to the beliefs or perceptions of each individual?

Is There One True Religion?
THERE are of course, situations in which it is prudent to allow for a variety of opinions. For example, a person might believe that a certain diet will make him healthier. But should he impose that diet on everyone else, as if it were the only way to healthy living? Certainly, it would be wise and modest on his part to allow for the possibility that someone else's choice of food might be as good or even better, at least for that other person.
Is it the same with religion? Are there a variety of acceptable alternatives from which to choose, depending on one's upbringing and way of perceiving things? Or is there one body of religious truth that applies to all mankind? Let us see what the Bible has to say. First, we will consider whether truth is even attainable. After all, if it is not, then there is little point in searching for one's religion.
IS RELIGIOUS TRUTH ATTAINABLE?
Shortly before he was killed, Jesus Christ told his interrogator, Roman Governor Pontius Pilate: "Everyone that is on the side of truth listens to my voice." (which in true life, no one really wants to hear the truth) Pilate may well have been responding cynically when he said: "What is truth?" (John 18:37, 38) Jesus, on the other hand, spoke unashamedly of truth. (most people wouldn't recognize truth if it bit them in the rump) He did not doubt its existence. Consider, for example, the following four statements that Jesus made to various people.
"For this, I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth." -John 18:37. "I am the way and the truth and the life." -John 14:6. "God is a spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth." -John 4:23, 24. 'if you remain in my word, you are really my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." -John 8:31, 32. Since Jesus spoke so confidently of truth and of coming to know it, shouldn't we at least examine the possibility that religious truth exists and that it can be found?

Note to my readers: In a little over a week, I will be moving to another state to be with my elderly dad to spend time with him. I do not know if I will be able to have use of a computer to do my blog to spread the truth. But as soon as I am able to do so, I will continue with my spiritual blogs, as I love doing what God wants me to do. To reach out to others to tell them of Jehovah God and his precious Son, Jesus Christ. I hope that I have reached some out there and that they have become true Christians. I feel that if I have reached at least one person out there, then my mission was worth it. Until I move, I will continue to do my blogs. I appreciate all those who have read or are still reading my spiritual blogs. Believe me it will all be worth it in the end. It was for me, as I was negative at first. Then I took a look at my life and I realized that it was the truth that i was seeking and I went looking for it and found it and am happy I did. I hope you all continue reading, once I am able to resume doing my blogs. Thank you, Mary

Conclusion Of Jesus Finishes All God Asks
The revelation given to John reveals that after Jesus' Thousand Year Reign, Satan will prove successful in turning an undetermined number of people away from serving God. but then, when the final test is finished, Satan, his demons, and all those whom he succeeds in misleading will be destroyed forever. On the other hand, the fully tested, loyal survivors will live on to enjoy the blessings of their heavenly Father throughout all eternity. Clearly, Jesus has played and will continue to play, a vital role in accomplishing God's glorious purposes. What a grand future we may enjoy as a result of all that he accomplishes as God's great heavenly King. Yet, we cannot forget all that he did while he was a man.
Jesus willingly came to earth and taught us about his Father. Beyond this he exemplified the precious qualities of God. Our hearts are moved when we consider his sublime courage and manliness, his unparalleled wisdom, his superb ability as a teacher, his fearless leadership, and his tender compassion and empathy. When we recall how he suffered indescribably as he furnished the ransom, by which alone we may gain life, surely our hearts are moved with appreciation for him!
Truly, what a man we have seen in this study of the life of Jesus! His greatness is obvious and overwhelming. We are moved to echo the words of the Roman governor Pontius Pilate: "Look! The man!" Yes, indeed, "The man," the greatest man who ever lived! By our accepting the provision of his ransom sacrifice, the burden of sin and death inherited from Adam can be removed from us, and Jesus can become our "Eternal Father." All who would gain everlasting life must take in knowledge not only of God but also of his Son, Jesus Christ. May your reading and study of this book assist you to take in such life-giving knowledge! 1 John 2:17; 1:7; John 5:28, 29; 3:16; 17:3; 19:5; Luke 23:43; Genesis 1:28; 1 Corinthians 15:24-28; Revelation 20:1-3, 6-10; 21:3, 4; Isaiah 9:6.

Jesus Finishes All God Asks
WHEN the Warrior-King Jesus Christ removes Satan and his unrighteous world, what cause for rejoicing there will be! The peaceful Thousand Year Reign of Jesus begins at last! Under the direction of Jesus and his associate kings, the survivors of Armageddon will clean up the ruins left by that righteous war. Likely, earthly survivors will also bear children for a time, and these will share in the delightful work of cultivating the earth into a gorgeous parklike garden.
In time Jesus will bring forth untold millions from their graves to enjoy this beautiful Paradise. He will do this in fulfillment of his own guaranteed: "The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will . . . come out." Among those Jesus resurrects will be the former evildoer who died beside him on the torture stake. Recall that Jesus promised him: "Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise." No, that man will not be taken to heaven as a rule as a king with Jesus, nor will Jesus again become a man and live on the Paradise earth with him. Rather, Jesus will be with the former evildoer in the sense that he will resurrect him to life in Paradise and see to it that his needs, both physical and spiritual, are cared for, as illustrated on the next page.
Think of it! Under Jesus' loving attention, the entire human family-Armageddon survivors, their offspring and the thousands of millions of resurrected dead who obey him-will grow toward human perfection. Jehovah, by means of his royal Son, Jesus Christ, will reside spiritually with humankind. "And, as the voice John heard from heaven says, "he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.l" No person on earth will suffer or be sick.
By the end of Jesus' Thousand Year Reign, the situation will be just as God originally purposed when he told the first human pair, Adam and Eve, to multiply and fill the earth. Yes, the earth will be filled with a righteous race of perfect humans. This is because the benefits of Jesus' ransom sacrifice will have been applied to everyone. Death because of Adam's sin will be no more! Thus, Jesus will have accomplished all that Jehovah asked of him. Therefore, at the end of the thousand years, he will hand over the Kingdom and the perfected human family to his Father, Go will then release Satan and his demons from the abyss of deathlike inactivity. For what purpose?
Well, by the end of the thousand years, most of those living in Paradise will be resurrected ones who have never had their faith tested. Before dying, they had never known God's promises and so could not demonstrate faith in them. Then, after being resurrected and taught Bible truths, it was easy for them in Paradise, without any opposition, to serve God. But if Satan was given the opportunity to try to stop them from continuing to serve God, would they prove loyal under test? To resolve this question, Satan will be released.

Conclusion Of At God's Right Hand
Obeying his Father's order, Jesus cleansed the heaven of Satan and his demons, hurling them down to the earth. After seeing this occur in vision, John hears a heavenly voice proclaim: "Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ!" Yes, in 1914 Christ began ruling as King! What good news this is for worshipers of Jehovah in heaven! They are urged: "Be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them!" But what is the situation for those on earth? "Woe for the earth and the sea," the voice from heaven continues, "because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time."
We are in the short period of time right now. People are presently being separated either to enter God's new world or to suffer destruction. The truth is, your own destiny is now being determined by how you respond to the good news of God's Kingdom that is being preached earth wide under Christ's direction.
When the separating of people has been finished, Jesus Christ will serve as God's Agent to rid the earth of Satan's entire system of things and all those who support it. Jesus will accomplish this removal of all wickedness in the war that is called in the Bible Har-Magedon, or Armageddon. Afterward, Jesus, the greatest Person in the universe next to Jehovah God himself, will seize Satan and his demons and bind them for a thousand years in an "abyss," that is, a state of deathlike inactivity. Acts 7:55-60; 8:1-3; 9:1-19; 16:6-10; Psalms 110:1, 2; Hebrews 10:12, 13; 1 Peter 3:22; Luke 22:28-30; Colossians 1:13, 23; Revelation 1:1, 10; 12:7-12; 16:14-16; 20:1-3; Matthew 24:14; 25:31-33.

At God's Right Hand
THE pouring out of holy spirit at Pentecost is evidence that Jesus has arrived back in heaven. The vision granted shortly afterward to the disciple Stephen also proves that He has arrived there. Just before being stoned for his faithful witnessing, Stephen exclaims: "Look! I behold the heavens opened up and the Son of man standing at God's right hand."
While at God's right hand, Jesus awaits the command from his Father: "Go subduing in the midst of your enemies." But in the meantime, until he takes action against his enemies, what does Jesus do? He rules, or reigns, over his anointed disciples, guiding them in their preaching activity and preparing them to become, by resurrection, associated kings with him in his Father's Kingdom. For example, Jesus selects Saul (later better known by his Roman name, Paul) to spearhead the disciple-making work in other lands. Saul is zealous for God's Law, yet he is misguided by the Jewish religious leaders. As a result, not only does Saul approve of Stephen's murder but he goes to Damascus with authorization from the high priest Caiaphas to bring back to Jerusalem under arrest any men and women he finds there who are followers of Jesus. However, while Saul is en route, a bright light suddenly flashes around him and he falls to the ground.
"Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" A voice from an invisible source asks. "Who are you, Lord?" Saul asks. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," comes the reply. Saul, who has been blinded by the miraculous light, is told by Jesus to enter Damascus and await instructions. Then Jesus appears in a vision to Ananias, one of his disciples. Regarding Saul, Jesus tells Ananias: "This man is a chosen vessel tome to bear my name to the nations as well as to the kings and the sons of Israel."
Indeed with Jesus' backing, Saul (known now as Paul) and other evangelizers have tremendous success in their work of preaching and teaching. In fact, about 25 years after Jesus' appearance to him on the road to Damascus, Paul writes that the "good news" has been "preached in all creation that is under heaven."
After the passing of many more years, Jesus provides a series of visions to his beloved apostle, John. By means of these visions that John describes in the Bible book of Revelations, he, in effect, lives to see Jesus return in Kingdom power. John says that "by inspiration" he was transported forward in time to "the Lord's day." What is this day?" A careful study of Bible prophecies, including Jesus' own prophecy regarding the last days, reveals that "the Lord's day" began in the history-making year 1914, yes, within this generation! So it was in 1914 that Jesus returned invisibly, without public fanfare and with only his faithful servants being aware of his return. In that year Jehovah gave Jesus the command to go subduing in the midst of his enemies!

Rather than try again to correct their misconceptions, Jesus simply answers: "It does not belong to you to get knowledge of the times or season which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction.: Then, stressing once again the work they must do, he says: "You will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon you, and you will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and o the most distant par of the earth.
While they are still looking on, Jesus begins rising heavenward, and then a cloud obscures him from their sight. After dematerializing his fleshly body, he ascends to heaven as a spirit person. As the 11 continue gazing into the sky, 2 men in white garments appear alongside them. These materialized angels ask: "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus who was received up from you into the sky will come thus in the same manner as you have beheld him going into the sky."
The manner in which Jesus has just left the earth is without public fanfare and with only his faithful followers observing. So he will return in like manner-without public fanfare and with only his faithful followers discerning that he has returned and has begun his presence in Kingdom power.
The apostles now descend the Mount of Olives, cross the Kidron Valley, and enter Jerusalem once again. They remain there in obedience to Jesus' command. Ten days later, at the Jewish Festival of Pentecost 33 C.E., while about 120 of the disciples assemble in an upper room in Jerusalem, a noise just like that of a rushing stiff breeze suddenly fills the whole house. Tongues as if of fire become visible, and one sits upon each of those present, and the disciples all begin to speak in different languages. This is the outpouring of the holy spirit that Jesus had promised! Matthew 28:16-20; Luke 24:49-52; 1 Corinthians 15:5-7; Acts 1:3-15; 2:1-4.

Further Appearances, And Pentecost 33 C.E.
AT SOME point Jesus makes arrangements for all 11 of his apostles to meet him at a mountain in Galilee. Other disciples are apparently told about the meeting, and a total of more than 500 people assemble. What a happy convention this proves to be when Jesus appears and begins teaching them! Among other things, Jesus explains to the large crowd that God has given him all authority in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore," he exhorts, "and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you."
Think of it! Men, women and children all receive this same commission to share in the disciple-making work. Opposers will try to stop their preaching and teaching, but Jesus comforts them: "Look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things." Jesus remains with his followers by means of the holy spirit, to help them fulfill their ministry. Altogether, Jesus shows himself alive to his disciples for a period of 40 days following his resurrection. During these appearances he instructs them about the Kingdom of God, and he emphasizes what their responsibilities are as his disciples. On one occasion he even appears to his half brother James and convinces this onetime unbeliever that He is indeed the Christ.
While the apostles are still in Galilee, Jesus evidently instructs them to return to Jerusalem. When meeting with them there, he says to them: "Do not withdraw from Jerusalem, but keep waiting for what the Father has promised, about which you heard from me; because John indeed, baptized with water, but you will be baptized with in holy spirit not many days after this." Later Jesus meets again with his apostles and leads hem out of the city as far as Bethany, which is located on the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives. Amazingly, despite everything he has said about his soon departing for heaven, they still believe that his Kingdom will be established on earth. So they inquire: "Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?"

Conclusion Of At The Sea Of Galilee
Just as Jesus was bound and executed because he did the work that God commissioned him to do, so, he now reveals, Peter will suffer a similar experience. When you were younger," Jesus tells him, "you used to gird yourself and walk about where you wanted. But when you grow old you will stretch out your hands and another man will gird you and bear you where you do not wish." Despite the martyr's death awaiting Peter, Jesus urges him: "Continue following me."
Upon turning about, Peter sees John and asks: "Lord what will this man do?" "If it is my will for him to remain until I come," Jesus answers, "of what concern is that to you? You continue following me." These words of Jesus came to be understood by many of the disciples to mean that the apostle John would never die. However, as the apostle John later explained, Jesus did not say that he would not die, but Jesus simply said: "If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you?"
John later also made this significant observation: "There are, in fact, many other things also which Jesus did, which, if ever they were written in full detail, I suppose, the world itself could not contain the scrolls written." John 21:1-25; Matthew 26:32; 28:7, 10.

At The Sea Of Galilee
THE apostles now return to Galilee, as Jesus had earlier instructed them to do. But they are uncertain about what they should do their. After a while, Peter tells Thomas, Nathanael, James and his brother John, and two other apostles: "I am going fishing." "We also are coming with you," the six reply.
During the whole night, they fail to catch anything. However, just as it is getting light, Jesus appears on the beach, but the apostles do not discern that it is Jesus. He shouts: "Young children, you do not have anything to eat, do you?" "No!" They shout back across the water. Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some," he says. And when they do, they are unable to draw in their net because of all the fish. "It is the Lord!" John cries. On hearing this, Peter girds on his top garment, for he has taken his clothes off, and plunges into the sea. He then swims about a hundred yards to shore. The other apostles follow in the little boat, dragging the net full of fish.
When they arrive on shore, there is a charcoal fire, with fish lying on it, and there is bread. "Bring some of the fish you just now caught," Jesus says. Peter goes aboard and pulls the net ashore. It contains 153 large fish! "Come take your breakfast, Jesus invites. None of them have the courage to ask, "Who are you?" Because all of them know that it is Jesus. This is his seventh postresurrection appearance, and his third to the apostles as a group. He now serves breakfast, giving each of them some bread and fish.
When they finished eating, Jesus, likely looking toward the large catch of fish, asks Peter: "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" No doubt he means, are you more attached to the fishing business than to the work that I have prepared for you to do? "You know that I have affection for you," Peter responds. "Feed my lambs," Jesus replies. Again, a second time, he asks: "Simon son of John, do you love me?" "Yes, Lord, you know I have affection for you," Peter answers earnestly. "Shepherd my little sheep," Jesus commands again. Then, yet a third time, he asks: "Simon son of John, do you have affection for me?"
By now Peter is grieved. He may be wondering if Jesus doubts his loyalty. After all, when Jesus was recently on trial for his life, Peter three times denied knowing him. So Peter says: "Lord, you know all these things; you are aware that I have affection for you." "Feed my little sheep," Jesus commands a third time. Jesus thus uses Peter as a sounding board to impress upon the others the work that he wants them to do. He will soon leave the earth, and he wants them to take the lead in ministering to those who will be drawn into God's sheepfold.

Conclusion of Further Appearances
Jesus suddenly makes a fifth appearance. Even though the doors are locked because the disciples are in fear of the Jews, he enters, standing right in their midst, and says: "May you have peace." They are terrified, imagining that they are seeing a spirit. So, explaining that he is not an apparition, Jesus says: "Why are you troubled, and why is it doubts come up in your hearts? See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; feel me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones just as you behold that I have." Still, they are reluctant to believe.
To help them grasp that he really is Jesus, he asks: "Do you have something there to eat?" After accepting a piece of broiled fish and eating it, he says: "These are my words which I spoke to you while I was yet with you [before my death], that all the things written in the law of Moses and in the Prophets and Psalms about me must be fulfilled." Continuing, in effect, amounts to a Bible Study with them, Jesus teaches: "In this way it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from among the dead on the third day, and on the basis of his name repentance for forgiveness of sins would be preached in all the nations-starting out from Jerusalem, you are to be witnesses of these things."
For some reason Thomas is not present at this vital Sunday evening meeting. So during the days that follow, the others joyfully tell him: "We have seen the Lord!" "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails," Thomas protests, "and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, I will certainly not believe.
Well, eight days later the disciples are again meeting indoors. This time Thomas is with them. Although the doors are locked, Jesus once more stands in their midst and says: "May you have peace." Then turning to Thomas, he invites: "Put your finger in here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop unbelieving." "My Lord and my God!" Thomas exclaims. Because you have seen me have you believed?"" Jesus asks. "Happy are those who do not see and yet believe." Luke 24:11, 13-48: John 20:19-29.

THE disciples are still downhearted. They do not comprehend the significance of the empty tomb, nor do they believe the reports of the women. So later on Sunday, Cleopas and another disciple leave Jerusalem for Emmaus, a distance of about seven miles. En route, while they were discussing the events of the day, a stranger joins them. "What are these matters that you are debating between yourselves as you walk along?" The disciples stop, their faces downcast, and Cleopas replies:" Are you dwelling as an alien by yourself in Jerusalem and so do not know the things that have occurred in her these days?" He asks: "What things?" "The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene," they answer. "Our chief priests and rulers handed him over to the sentence of death and impaled him. But we were hoping that this man was the one destined to deliver Israel."
Cleopas and his companion explain the astounding events of the day-the report about the supernatural sight of angels and the empty tomb-but then confess their bewilderment regarding the meaning of these things. The stranger reprimands them: "O senseless ones and slow in heart to believe on all the things the Prophets spoke! Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?" He then interprets for them passages from the sacred text that pertain to Christ.
Finally they arrive near Emmaus, and the stranger makes as if he is going on. Wanting to hear more, the disciples urge: "Stay with us, because it is toward evening." So he stays for a meal. As he says a prayer and breaks bread and hands it to them, they recognize that he is really Jesus in a materialized human body. but then he disappears. Now they understand how the stranger knew so much! Were not our hearts burning, they ask, "as he was speaking to us on the road, as he was fully opening up the Scriptures to us?" Without delay, they get up and hurry all the way back to Jerusalem where they find the apostles and those assembled with them. Before Cleopas and his companion can say a thing, the others excitedly report: "For a fact the Lord was raised up and he appeared to Simon!" Then the two relate how Jesus also appeared to them. This makes four times during the day that he has appeared to them. This makes four times during the day that he has appeared to different ones of his disciples.

Conclusion of Jesus Is Alive!
Mary Magdalene, who remains behind at the tomb, is overcome by grief. Where could Jesus be? Stooping forward to look into the tomb, she sees the two angels in white, who have reappeared! One is sitting at the head and the other at the foot of where Jesus' body had been lying. "Woman, why are you weeping?" They ask. "They have taken my Lord away," Mary answers, "and I do not know where they have laid him." Then she turns around and sees someone who repeats the question: "Woman, why are you weeping?" And this one also asks: "Whom are you looking for?"
Imagining this person to be the caretaker of the garden in which the tomb is situated, she says to him: "Sir, if you have carried him off, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away." "Mary!" The person says. And immediately she knows, by the familiar way he speaks to her, that it is Jesus. "Rab-bo'ni!" (meaning "Teacher!") She exclaims. And with unbound joy, she grabs hold of him. But Jesus says: "Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.' "
Mary now runs to where the apostles and fellow disciples have gathered. She adds her account to the report that the other women have already given about seeing the resurrected Jesus. Yet, these men, who did not believe the first women apparently do not believe Mary either. Matthew 28:3-15; Mark 16:5-8; Luke 24:4-12; John 20:2-18.
