"We Want to Go With You"

HOW SHOULD ANOINTED CHRISTIANS VIEW THEMSELVES?

Those who partake of the emblems at the Memorial should carefully consider the warning found at 1 Corinthians 11:27-29. "Wherefore, whoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the  Lord.  (28) But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup.  (29) For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.    What point is the apostle Paul making?  And anointed Christian would partake unworthily if he did not maintain a good relationship with Jehovah.  (Hebrews 6:4-6; 10:26-29)  Such a warning helps anointed Christians to remember that they have not yet taken hold of the reward.  They need to continue to press on "toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God by means of Christ Jesus." -Philippians 3:13-16.

Note:  For me, my opinion is, that all of us are imperfect and will be until the resurrection of the wicked and the good and are on the new Paradise earth. Right now, we are all sinful and are likely to stumble a lot, so being imperfect and sinful. I do not feel we are entitled or worthy,  at any time in this system of things hard to deal with, of eating of the bread or drinking from the cup of Christ's body.  Because (and don't offended) there are a lot of people out there who think that they are close to God and worship him right, but that is not the case, because the world is full of false prophets misleading everyone they can and that is what the Devil/Satan wants.   But having God in our lives and having him  on our side-meaning have strong faith and worshiping him and doing work for him, really helps to be protected by him.

Under inspiration, Paul appealed to anointed Christians "to walk worthily of the calling with which [they] were called.  How should this be done?  Paul goes on to say "with all humility and mildness, with patience, putting with one another, earnestly endeavoring to maintain the oneness of the spirit in the uniting bond of peace."  (Ephesians 4:1-3)  Jehovah's spirit promotes humility, not pride.  (Colossians 3:12) Modestly anointed ones acknowledge that they do not necessarily have more holy spirit than those  with an earthly hope. They do not claim to have special knowledge or revelations; neither do they try to prove that they are in some way superior.  (note: sorry, but I would have to  argue on that matter, there are some who have a swelled head)  They would also never suggest to others  that these too have been anointed and should start partaking; rather, they would humbly acknowledge that it is Jehovah who does the calling of anointed ones.

Although it is a wonderful privilege to have the heavenly calling, anointed Christians do not expect any special honor from others. (Ephesians 1:18, 19; read Philippians 2:2, 3.)  (note: that is good to know, because the only honor we should give is to Jehovah and Jesus Christ)  Jehovah's spirit bore witness  to them personally. No announcement was made to the world. So they are not  surprised if some people do not readily believe that they have truly been anointed by holy spirit.  In fact, they realize that the Scriptures advise against quickly  believing someone who claims to have a special anointment from God.  (Revelation 2:2)  In no way, then, would they use their anointing as a "calling card"  to introduce themselves ; neither would they want to boast about their future reward. -1 Corinthians 1:28, 29; read 1 Corinthians 4:6-8.

In addition, anointed Christians do not view themselves as being part of an elite club.  They do not seek out others who claim to have the same calling, hoping to bond with them or endeavoring to form private groups for Bible study.  (Galatians 1:15-17)  Such efforts would cause divisions within the congregation and work against the holy spirit, which promotes peace and unity. -Read Romans 16:17, 18.
